Feb 23: "I guess I just like beating myself up all the time."
Did I ever tell yall how bad it smells here in palatka, well it's nasty. I was out of our area for two days this week and when I got back for some reason it just hit me like a brick wall, I think I had just gotten used to it. So now it's story time, last Monday we went up to St. Agustine with a bunch of other elders and played beach volleyball, it was pretty windy but we made the best of it and had a blast, at one point I messed up my back though, dove backward for the ball while at the same time elder Riley jumped forward for it and his knee drove straight into the middle of my back, and boy did it hurt, bad too, stayed like that for two days but know it feels good, I'll only feel a soreness there when I twist into a certain position. Then once we got down with volleyball we decided to have a wrestling match and you know me, if I get hurt I just keep going, so I wrestled this one elder who is actually pretty good and is going to wrestle in college, well at one point he slammed me down and I bit my tongue pretty and and got a pretty bad canker sore during the week, hurt even to talk, I guess I just like to beat myself up all the time. Then this week we had a mission conference with elder Zwick of the 70, and bro Hemingway, the man who's heading up iPads and facebook for missionaries, and that's about what they talked about, talked about effective ways to use it and ways to stay safe with them, apparently lots of missionaries are struggling looking up inappropriate things on them, about 1 in 3 are looking up porn sadly. But the church has now got a vision of how all this is going to work out with he iPads, they've decided the they are going to just retrain all the missionaries in the world that have iPads. We are turning all our iPads in and they are going to give us brand new one, but you have to pay for them now, luck for me since I'm going home so soon I won't have to. But this should be interesting to see how things go, so this new idea. On Wednesday all the leaders in the mission are having a meeting and we will get the new iPads then. Also this week we had Ward conference and on Saturday we had a ward dinner and talent show, every auxiliary was in charge of a talent or skit, excluding the missionaries, our at first we thought was going to turn out bad, but it was pretty good in the end. We did a skit on an older member in the ward, sis Herrington who has pretty much been around from the beginning of the church life here in palatka, everyone seemed to enjoy it. Now as for missionary work this week it was been really good, we set a district goal for each companionship to get a double double, which is to get a double digit number for two key indicators(like different types of lessons, or referrals, ect.) then elder Riley and I decided to take on another challenge to do better than the zone leaders this week, cause they always do the best, and yes we did. Things here are really great, and the work is moving along swiftly. I'm lovin it. Love yall so much and I'm grateful for everything yall do for me, especially you mama, your the best!!!
PS.
Just found out I will be starting school on September 14th, I have the fall/winter track.
