We are ready for Christmas! |
Christmas is in the air and I can feel it, even though right now I'm
wearing shorts and flip flops. It's a nice sunny day out, morning s
and night time get kinda cold but during the day you can feel the sun
beating down on you, kinda different from back home but not to bad, I
do miss the snow however. Well let's see what has happened this week,
it started off kinda slow and we got frustrated from it but by the end
things are picking up, we have been receiving a lot of member
referrals this week, seems everyone is just out sharing the message of
Christ during this Christmas season. Also this week we did a lot of
service some with one member cutting up trees and another with another
member tearing down an old chicken/dog/pig coop, wasn't to bad kinda
fun breaking things. Also this week we had our Ward Christmas party,
they did a nice big breakfast, normally I do like church breakfasts
cause there's never enough food, but boy oh boy there was tons and
ohhhh it was so good, the primary did a nice little presentation and
of course Santa was there, and I got to sit on Santa knee and tell him
my wish list!!!
As for our teaching pool, it's been pretty good. Ralph has been coming
along really well. He's been reading the Book of Mormon and enjoys it.
Yesterday we shared with him the plan of salvation and it really made
a lot of since to him and wants to learn more about it. He's coming
along really well. Also we are still working with Savion who now knows
it's all true but has a really hard time with the word of wisdom. Just
doesn't want to quite smoking or coffee. But is now at least starting
to think about it.
Oh and also this week we made cookies with our Ward mission leader and
his wife and the sister missionaries and went out delivering them with
a nice little message. But that about raps up my week here in Florida,
President Craig has given m permission to start looking at colleges
now so we will see how that goes. Love yall

Dec. 9, 2014 "Festivities"
Well, well time is just flying by faster and faster and next thing you
know I will be on a jet plane flying home, just like that song dad
sent me, haha. This week so much happened, our goal for the week was
to get a member out with us everyday, didn't quite reach our goal but
we got 4 members out with us on different days which was really good.
Now some miracles that happened this week was finding Jermain, so last
week we were driving and saw him crossing the street, we pulled over
and talked to him, he invited us to come to his home and next day
which we did and since then have had a couple lessons with him, he is
really embracing the gospel and wanting to change his life, his has a
baptism date set for the end of December, also his neighbor Ralph we
have been teaching as well and he is really interested in learning
about the Book of Mormon and finding out if it is true, he to has a
baptism date for early January. Now probably the biggest miracle of
the week was when a member gave us a call, so the day before we were
with Bro Wood doing some service for his neighbor Carl and we were
just cutting down everything in his yard. Now so when Bro Wood called
us up the next day he was freaking out, he was over at Carl's place
talking with him about gospel stuff and they got talking about Joseph
Smith and missionary work and other things, Bro Wood was able to tell
his conversion story and bear his testimony, and Carl committed to be
baptized along with his family. So when Bro Wood called us telling us
the good news we got so exciting, this week we are going over to visit
with Carl and his family. Also this week we have helped a couple
different people move, one was a big move with tons of stuff for a
man, and another was a smaller move for some college students. Oh and
on Saturday we got to help out at a state park where they were holding
a massive Christmas party where thousands of people come to, we got to
sit on the wagon rides that went through the trails and we were in
charge of playing the music for it, just CD players, and looking at
Christmas lights, Christmas is just not the same without the cold
weather and the snow...
Oh and I can't forget I also got a very special package recently. I
love it, the calendars are awesome and we put the lights up in our
apartment and the glasses go perfectly with the. As for the socks I
need, black ones would be fine and my shirt size I'm not sure, the
only number on my shirt is 16, not sure how it all works out. Also I
have been having a craving for wheat thins, just saying.
Love y'all

Dec. 1, 2014
Had an awesome week, so many crazy things happened. Last pday we went
up to St Augustine and played some beach volleyball which was awesome.
Then Tuesday add Wednesday I spent two days up in Crescent city which
is a Spanish area, and boy were those two days long, I mean it drug on
and on, not because of the elders, they are awesome, but because
everyone spoke Spanish all day and I had no idea what was going on, I
now know he Clifton and Jared felt when they first got on their
missions. Also district meeting this week went amazing, by far the
best one so far, I ended it with sharing with them a poem call "I've
been there before" referring to Christ, and it was powerful, even got
the sisters to tear up a little. I think I'm starting to get the hang
of this district leader thing.
Now thanksgiving was amazing, we had two dinners. One of which was
with a family called the Shoups. The mom called Mary who is like 60
or 70(haha dads age) was the one who called us two weeks before, we
had no idea who they were but she wanted to feed us, she just didn't
want any preaching gong on. So we went and had a great time with them,
the refused to call us by elder so they called us by our first name,
but they were awesome and even want to feed us again sometime soon.
Then the other family was our investigator family, John and Jammie and
all their extended family. Over the space of the whole day we had
almost everything you can think of for to eat(turkey, ham, casseroles,
everything) and probably gained 10 pounds that it, but it felt so
good.
Then Friday the sisters had a baptism of 3, a dad and two kids, it was
a beautiful service. Savion didn't get baptized this week since he
needed to overcome smoking but he has set a date/goal to quit smoking
and be baptized on the third of Feb. So as for how missionary work
this week we were really tried focusing on finding and struggled all
week not teaching very much and finding no body until Sunday came and
after church ended we were blessed beyond measure. That day we found 5
new investigators and taught 8 lessons. It was so amazing, days like
that hardly ever happen. But you are always blessed in the end of your
trials. Now how we did it is we went out tracting and used a Christmas
video to get in the door which everyone loved. It's a new video the
church just made called "He's the gift" you should check it out. It's a
powerful video.
Now we are at the church about to have another district pday, doing a
Christmas party to start off the holidays, we're have a lunch followed
by a white elephant exchange, I bought a dollar Barbie and pulled a
Jared putting it in plastic bags and duck taping it like crazy. This
is going to fun....
Love you all and enjoy the holiday!!!
Christmas list
All I really need is a long white sleeve shirt which I would really
like and some black socks, mine are all starting to get holes now....
The rest you can surprise me... Love you
